So after 3 weeks of college football week 2 has come to an end. When you count the week 0 as the first week of games that makes week #1 week #2. And week #2 is the third weekend we’ve watched college football. Simple math for college kids. No wonder Big 10 refs can’t tell time when the NCAA counts their weeks in this manner. I have a headache, and it’s only partly from how much I drank in week 2. Or week 3? Damn it, the headache is getting worse. Here’s the only ranking you need after Saturday. Post Week 2 Top 12 1–Texas-I thought they benefited from Ohio St deciding to take the 4th quarter off 2–Miami-Their ACC cakewalk begins this Friday because with ACC football on Friday people will watch by accident because football is on 3–Georgia-I think they need to build their toughness and camaraderie before the meat of their SEC schedule by pounding teams lesser than them, this includes you Arkansas 4–Notre Dame-Shutout of Rice, yay! But this schedule may get a little tougher than I originally thought 5–LSU-The real test for Lane Kiffin and the Tigers comes this Saturday with his return to Ole Miss. If they keep their emotions in check they could steal a big win in his return 6–Indiana-Congrats on shutting out the Howard Bison. You will know the Howard Bison when you see them bandaged and bruised handing one of those giant checks to the cashier at the bank Monday morning 7–Alabama-Tiny scare for the Crimson Tide trailing on the road againstKentucky after the 1st half. Then their defense took over in the 2nd and looked formidable 8–Texas Tech-Good enough win on the road for the Red Raiders. I wish they had BYU on their schedule to crown a true Big 12 champ 9–BYU-Good enough win at home for the Cougars. I wish they had Texas Tech on their schedule to crown a true Big 12 champ 10–JMU-The Dukes are my obligatory Group of 5 team again this week but I will berate them for settling for only 87 points when you clearly could have topped 100 11–Ohio St-This may be a little harsh on the Buckeyes to drop them this far after a road loss to a top 5 team, but when you only play 3/4 of a game you will lose and be punished 12–Ole Miss-If the Rebels want to establish themselves as a top team in the SEC it starts this Saturday night. Their players are not lining up against the coach that left them, he’s on the sidelines not wearing pads. Play like they are capable and save the emotions for postgame. Absolutely the game of the week and maybe one of the 4-5 biggest of the whole season +Tennessee-These Volunteers are maybe sitting around a little quietly and coming together as a team. They will need that and some more improvement as one of the nation’s hardest schedules kicks in after week 4 or 3. Damn it not this crap again +Michigan-This pick will be murdered all because of mistakes referees made in the game against Western Michigan. However, these Wolverines handled a very good and no longer in my rankings Sooners team +USC-This is a Trojan team that I want to get to actually watch some. I’m not letting my east coast bias make me overlook the Trojans. Their schedule gets harder come October but that could deliver us fans some great TV You may have noticed the complete absence of the Oregon Ducks. I will contend that I was right about them being not very good when they only won at home by 7 over Boise State in week 1. My observations were proven correct after probably one of the worst losses you will see this year losing to an Oklahoma State team that hadn’t beat a FBS team in over a year. Maryland and Rutgers must be fuming that they don’t get a chance to kick some Duck this year.
