NFL Week 1 is in the books. From the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks kicking off their title defense against the team they beat for the title, the New England Patriots, on a special early Wednesday night kick off. To a Thursday night NFC West matchup down under that saw the San Francisco 49ers upend the Super Bowl favorite Los Angeles Rams. And then a full Sunday slate finishing off with the New York Giants defending MetLife against NFC East rivals the Dallas Cowboys. The concluding on Monday with the Kansas City Chiefs making a early statement against their AFC West rivals and last year’s division winners the Denver Broncos.

Man, when the NFL returns it is almost like a national holiday. The wait over the spring and summer seemed like a long time. But to me it was worth the wait. Plenty of entertaining games IMO. Maybe not the best week of games ever but when there’s NFL on the TV it’s all pretty good.

So how did I do with my Week 1 picks? .500 baby! I went 8-8. Maybe I went with some picks based a little on what some teams were last year. Maybe I believed the preseason hype on a couple to many team too. Either way, starting off at .500 I’ll consider that a win. Even though it’s technically a push.

So let’s build on that .500 with my Week 2 picks

Detroit at Buffalo-Bills 38 to 34

Carolina at Atlanta-Panthers 28 to 20

Minnesota at Chicago-Bears 40 to 17

Philadelphia at Tennessee-Eagles 24 to 17

Pittsburgh at New England-Patriots 20 to 13

Green Bay at NY Jets-Jets 33 to 30

Cleveland at Tampa Bay-Buccaneers 31 to 10

New Orleans at Baltimore-Ravens 34 to 29

Cincinnati at Houston-Texans 37 to 36

Jacksonville at Denver-Broncos 27 to 21

Las Vegas at LA Chargers-Raiders 20 to 15

Washington at Dallas-Cowboys 35 to 17

Seattle at Arizona-Seahawks 27 to 14

Miami at San Francisco-49ers 33 to 7

Indianapolis at Kansas City-Chiefs 37 to 20

NY Giants at LA Rams-Rams 24 to 21

Here’s to as great of a Week 2 as it was of a Week 1. Buffalo opening their new stadium. NFC North matchup between the Vikings and Bears. Two games in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium. Early season rivalry game between Washington and Dallas. And more depending on who it is you are rooting for. Pick a story line and there’s a reason to watch every game. Happy Week 2 everybody.
