The Ryder Cup was everything you wanted and more..

This past weekends Ryder Cup was so refreshing to watch.  You had a very young United States team averaging at the age of 29.2 years of age the youngest in Ryder Cup history going against its foe who has won the last four out of five Ryder Cups, the Europeans.

This Ryder Cup had everything, from Captain Steve Stricker who was Wisconsin’s home town hero, playing at Whistling Straights.  To be honest, this link style course I was concerned Europe would have the advantage due the experience of not only playing in the Ryder Cup but the conditions.  Several days the wind blew 15-25 mph.

US got out to a 3-1 lead, then 11-6 then blew it open to win 19-9.

The crowd - outstanding!!  Golf and sports needs more of this atmosphere, cheering the home guys, including Bryson DeChambeau.

Sergio Garcia and John Rahm heard heckling from the crowd as well.  Nevertheless the Garcia/Rahm team gave it back by winning their matches.

Rory’s interview after his singles match against Xander Schauffele was one for the books.  If you havn’t seen it watch below

The beer celebration with Justin Thomas and Daniel Berger on number 1 tee was superb.

To cap it off with the hatchet buried between Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau was the ultimate in the spirit of how playing for your country is greater than your own disagreements with your peers.

The Ryder Cup is Special!! More sports need to adopt this format in some way!  By far the greatest event golf puts on, and it’s not even close.  Got my juices flowing to get on the course again!!!
