Game Recap

Arizona Diamondbacks defeated Cleveland Guardians 4-1 in a contest held at Progressive Field. The Diamondbacks took control of the game early, relying on a collaborative pitching effort to stifle the Cleveland offense throughout the nine innings.

Mitch Bratt started for Arizona and provided five solid innings, allowing only three hits and one earned run while walking four and striking out two. Following his departure, the Arizona bullpen was lights out; Taylor Clarke, Kevin Ginkel, Brandyn Garcia, and Jonathan Loaisiga combined for four hitless innings to seal the win for the Diamondbacks.

Cleveland starter Tanner Bibee held his own for much of the game, pitching 7.1 innings and allowing two earned runs on three hits with three strikeouts. However, the game slipped away in the late stages when relief pitcher Erik Sabrowski surrendered two runs, proving to be the deciding factor in the 4-1 defeat.

Key Performances

For the Diamondbacks, Ryan Waldschmidt led the way offensively, going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Geraldo Perdomo also provided a productive outing, finishing 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Gabriel Moreno and Ketel Marte each added an RBI, providing enough run support to back the dominant pitching staff.

The Cleveland offense struggled to sustain momentum against the Arizona arms. Rhys Hoskins accounted for the team's lone RBI, going 1-for-1 with a walk, while Steven Kwan reached base safely multiple times, finishing 2-for-2 with a walk. Despite these efforts, the Guardians were unable to break through against the Diamondbacks' relief core.

What's Next
