Game Recap

Atlanta Braves defeated New York Mets 1-0 at Citi Field in a closely contested matchup defined by dominant pitching. The Braves managed to secure the lone run of the game, providing just enough support to secure the win. The Mets struggled to generate offense throughout the contest, falling short despite a respectable effort on the mound.

The decisive run was driven in by Matt Olson, who went 1-for-4 with an RBI. Jim Jarvis, who scored the game's only run, contributed by going 1-for-4. The Braves' pitching staff was lights-out, led by starter Chris Sale, who tossed 6.0 scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and striking out nine batters.

Key Performances

Chris Sale earned the spotlight for the Braves, throwing 94 pitches over his six innings of work with a 2.08 ERA. Following him, the bullpen was perfect: Didier Fuentes added 1.0 inning with three strikeouts, while Dylan Lee and Raisel Iglesias each closed out their respective 1.0-inning appearances without allowing a hit.

On the offensive side for Atlanta, Drake Baldwin led the team with a 2-for-4 performance. Ozzie Albies reached base twice, finishing 1-for-3 with a walk. For the Mets, Carson Benge and Eric Wagaman both recorded hits, but the team's bats were held in check by the Braves' staff.

New York starter Christian Scott delivered a solid performance despite the loss, going 6.0 innings and allowing only one run on five hits with seven strikeouts. Relievers A.J. Minter, Cionel Perez, and Daniel Duarte combined for three scoreless innings of relief to keep the game within reach, but the Mets' hitters could not capitalize on their limited opportunities.
