Game Recap

In a commanding performance, the Baltimore Orioles lost to the Seattle Mariners 0-3 at T-Mobile Park. The Mariners showcased their pitching prowess, particularly Bryan Woo, who managed to shut out the Orioles for a full seven innings, allowing only three hits while striking out nine batters. The Orioles struggled to find their footing at the plate, unable to score despite multiple opportunities throughout the match.

The scoring opened for the Mariners in the third inning, when a notable play by Cole Young drove in the first run. Young went 1-for-3 with one RBI, displaying another layer of creativity and skill in his approach. This timely hit set the tone for the Mariners, who looked to capitalize on the Orioles' offensive struggles.

The Mariners added two more runs in the fourth inning, showcasing their offensive depth. Josh Naylor, who went 1-for-4 with one run scored, contributed to the tally and displayed effective batting even amid an otherwise quiet game. Colt Emerson also played a pivotal role, notching an impressive 1-for-2 night with two RBIs, further emphasizing the Mariners' ability to capitalize on scoring chances through calculated hits.

The Orioles, on the other hand, had difficulty generating runs, as highlighted by the batting averages of key players. Taylor Ward and Adley Rutschman both went hitless, with Ward finishing 0-for-4 and Rutschman 0-for-4 as well. Their inability to produce hits left the Orioles often on the defensive and unable to answer back.

Orioles pitcher Shane Baz had a solid outing despite the loss, pitching seven innings and striking out nine batters while allowing three earned runs. His effort kept the Orioles in the game but showcased the challenge his teammates faced at the plate. Baz's performance continues to reflect his potential, but it was unfortunately overshadowed by the Mariners’ dominant pitching and strategic offense.
