Game Recap

Boston Red Sox defeated New York Mets 3-2 in a hard-fought matchup at Citi Field. The pitching staff for Boston was instrumental in the victory, limiting the Mets' offense despite a solo home run from Francisco Lindor. The game remained tight throughout, with both bullpens working to hold leads and minimize damage in a high-stakes environment.

The Red Sox offense managed to piece together enough production against the Mets' pitching staff. While New York starter Zach Thornton provided a strong 7.0 innings of two-hit, shutout baseball, the Boston bullpen held firm. Payton Tolle started for the Red Sox, striking out seven over 3.2 innings of work, and Brayan Bello followed with 4.1 innings of relief to secure the win.

Key Performances

For the Red Sox, Andruw Monasterio contributed significantly, finishing 1-for-2 with an RBI and drawing two walks. Jarren Duran also played a pivotal role, going 1-for-4 with an RBI, while Anthony Seigler added an RBI despite going 0-for-4 at the plate. The game was ultimately decided in the final innings as the Red Sox capitalized on opportunities against the New York bullpen, including Devin Williams and Brooks Raley. Despite the loss, the Mets saw strong contributions from their starters and key power from Lindor, but the Red Sox's combined pitching effort proved sufficient to seal the one-run victory.
