Game Recap

The Cincinnati Reds lost to the St. Louis Cardinals 0-7 on a difficult night at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals controlled the game from start to finish, backed by a stifling pitching performance that limited the Reds' offense to just three hits throughout the entire contest.

St. Louis starter Andre Pallante was the story of the night, silencing the Cincinnati lineup over 7.0 innings. Pallante allowed only two hits and one walk while racking up eight strikeouts to keep the Reds off the scoreboard. Gordon Graceffo followed with 2.0 innings of scoreless relief, surrendering one hit and two walks while striking out four to seal the shutout victory.

Cincinnati's Hunter Greene struggled on the mound, taking the loss after giving up seven runs, six of which were earned, on eight hits across 5.1 innings. Despite a solid 2.0-inning effort from Chase Petty, who allowed only two hits and struck out two, the deficit proved far too large for the Reds to overcome.

Key Performances

Offensively, the Cardinals received significant contributions from Alec Burleson and Ivan Herrera. Burleson finished the night 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Herrera went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Bryan Torres and Blaze Jordan also provided timely hitting, each recording an RBI in the win. Nathan Church added another RBI to round out the scoring production for St. Louis.

For the Reds, offense was hard to come by. Elly De La Cruz recorded one of the team's three hits, finishing 1-for-3 with a walk. Sal Stewart also managed a 1-for-4 performance, and JJ Bleday went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks. Eugenio Suarez endured a challenging night at the plate, striking out four times in four at-bats.
