Game Recap

The Cleveland Guardians lost to the Tampa Bay Rays 3-11 on a difficult afternoon at Tropicana Field. The Rays leveraged strong pitching from starter Shane McClanahan and a relentless attack to keep the Guardians at bay throughout the matchup.

The Rays broke the game open early, while Cleveland's starter Joey Cantillo struggled, allowing five runs on eight hits across 3.2 innings of work. Despite the efforts of the Cleveland bullpen, including Matt Festa, Franco Aleman, and Tim Herrin, the Rays continued to add to their lead. The game reached a turning point in the late innings as the Rays' bats remained hot, putting the game well out of reach for the visiting club.
