Game Recap

Los Angeles Angels defeated Texas Rangers 13-1 on a decisive night at Globe Life Field. The Angels' offense proved too much for the Rangers, putting up runs early and often to cruise to a lopsided victory. The combination of strong starting pitching and an explosive lineup ensured the win in dominant fashion.

Walbert Urena set the tone for the Angels on the mound, tossing 4.0 scoreless innings while working through five walks. He was backed by a stellar relief effort from Samy Natera Jr., who struck out five batters over 2.0 hitless innings. Ryan Zeferjahn, Jose Fermin, and Mitch Farris combined to close out the final three frames, allowing only two hits and a single run to secure the result.

Key Performances

Jo Adell was the standout performer for the Angels, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs. Vaughn Grissom was equally impressive at the plate, finishing 4-for-5 with four RBIs, while Mike Trout contributed a 1-for-4 performance including a home run and two RBIs. Zach Neto paced the top of the order by going 3-for-5 with three runs scored, providing constant pressure on the Texas defense.

On the other side, the Rangers struggled to generate momentum against the Angels' staff. Kyle Higashioka provided the only bright spot for Texas, launching a home run in his only at-bat. MacKenzie Gore took the loss for the Rangers, surrendering seven earned runs on nine hits and two home runs over 5.0 innings of work.

The bullpen struggles for the Rangers further compounded the deficit, as Gavin Collyer, Robby Ahlstrom, and position player Kyle Higashioka all allowed multiple runs in their respective relief appearances. Ben Peoples was the lone bright spot for the Rangers' pitching staff, tossing a perfect inning with one strikeout.
