Game Recap

Miami Marlins lost to Milwaukee Brewers 1-2 in a closely fought contest at American Family Field. The game was defined by excellent pitching performances on both sides, with the Marlins' Sandy Alcantara going 6.0 innings and allowing just one earned run while striking out seven. On the opposing side, Milwaukee starter Logan Henderson delivered 5.0 solid innings, surrendering only one run on a home run.

The offensive production was limited throughout the afternoon. Griffin Conine provided the lone run for the Marlins, accounting for his only hit of the game with a solo home run. For the Brewers, Joey Ortiz proved to be the difference-maker, contributing a solo home run among his two hits on the day and driving in the game-winning run. Garrett Mitchell also played a key role for Milwaukee, finishing the game 2-for-4 with an RBI.

The bullpen battle highlighted the later innings. Following Alcantara's departure, the Marlins utilized Calvin Faucher, Michael Petersen, Pete Fairbanks, and Lake Bachar. The Brewers responded with a dominant relief effort from Chad Patrick, Aaron Ashby, Abner Uribe, Trevor Megill, and Craig Yoho, who combined to keep the Marlins off the board for the final four innings of play.

Key Performances

For Miami, Otto Lopez was a standout at the plate, finishing 2-for-4. Heriberto Hernandez, Xavier Edwards, Liam Hicks, and Javier Sanoja each contributed a single hit, but the team struggled to string offensive momentum together against the Brewers' pitching staff. Kyle Stowers and Joe Mack had difficult outings, combining for five strikeouts.

Milwaukee's victory was bolstered by Garrett Mitchell, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Joey Ortiz, who was 2-for-4 with a home run. While Jackson Chourio went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts, the team's discipline at the plate allowed them to draw several walks throughout the game, including three from William Contreras and two from Jake Bauers, which kept pressure on the Miami defense.
