Game Recap

Philadelphia Phillies defeated Cincinnati Reds 1-0 in a tightly contested matchup held at Great American Ball Park. The contest was defined by stellar pitching from both sides, as the only run of the game proved to be the difference maker.

The Phillies broke the scoreless tie thanks to the efforts of Justin Crawford, who delivered an RBI hit in his 1-for-3 performance. Derek Hill, who did not register a hit, crossed the plate to score the decisive run after entering the game.

Philadelphia's pitching staff was the story of the day. Starter Jesus Luzardo tossed 7.0 shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out 11 batters. Jonathan Bowlan followed with a scoreless inning, and Jhoan Duran closed the door in the ninth, despite giving up one hit, to secure the victory.

For the Reds, Brady Singer delivered a strong start, pitching 7.1 innings and allowing only one run on four hits. Despite his effort, the offense was unable to provide support, falling short in the shutout loss. Sam Moll and Tejay Antone provided scoreless relief, but the damage had already been done.

Key Performances

Brandon Marsh led the Phillies' offense with a solid 2-for-4 showing. Kyle Schwarber struggled to make contact, striking out three times in a 1-for-4 outing. Bryson Stott contributed a hit, going 1-for-4 on the afternoon.
