Game Recap

Philadelphia Phillies defeated Detroit Tigers 4-2. The Phillies offense managed to scrape together enough production to overcome a strong pitching effort from the Tigers at Comerica Park. Despite the Tigers recording more hits overall, Philadelphia secured the victory by capitalizing on key opportunities and relying on a solid outing from their starting pitcher.

Cristopher Sanchez anchored the Phillies' efforts on the mound, pitching 7.0 innings. Although he allowed 10 hits and two earned runs, he managed to strike out seven batters while walking only one. The bullpen ensured the lead held, with Jonathan Bowlan pitching a scoreless inning followed by Jhoan Duran, who also contributed a scoreless frame to close out the win.

The Phillies' offensive effort was spearheaded by J.T. Realmuto, who drove in two runs on the day. Derek Hill also chipped in with a run batted in and a hit in his three at-bats. Trea Turner added an RBI despite going 0-for-2, helping Philadelphia establish the margin needed to secure the win against a persistent Tigers lineup.
