Game Recap

The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the Cincinnati Reds 2-10 in a decisive contest at Great American Ball Park. The Reds jumped out to an early advantage, putting up seven runs against Pirates starter Mitch Keller in just two innings of work. Keller struggled, surrendering six hits, including two home runs, and walking four batters before being relieved.

Cincinnati's starting pitcher, Chase Burns, provided a stellar performance, stifling the Pittsburgh offense throughout his six innings on the mound. Burns limited the Pirates to just two hits and one earned run while striking out nine batters. The Reds' bullpen, featuring Brock Burke, Tejay Antone, and Zach McCambley, effectively sealed the victory by allowing only one additional run over the final three innings.

The Pirates' offensive efforts were largely contained by the Cincinnati staff. Pittsburgh managed to plate their first run in the middle innings and another late against Antone, but they were unable to overcome the significant early deficit. Despite the efforts of players like Jacob Gonzalez and Bryan Reynolds, the offensive output remained minimal compared to the Reds' explosive start.
