Game Recap

The San Francisco Giants lost to the Kansas City Royals 3-4 in a competitive showdown held at Kauffman Stadium. Despite an offensive push in the late innings, the Giants were unable to overcome the lead established by the Royals earlier in the game.

The Royals set the tone early, aided by a home run from Salvador Perez, who finished the day 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Kansas City received consistent contributions throughout their lineup, including multi-hit performances from Nick Loftin and Isaac Collins, who both went 2-for-3. Loftin and Collins each recorded an RBI to help secure the narrow victory for the home team.

On the mound, Kansas City starter Michael Wacha was effective, delivering six innings of work while allowing only one earned run on three hits. He struck out five Giants hitters to stabilize the Royals' defense. While Alex Lange encountered some trouble in the late stages, surrendering two runs on two hits, the Royals' bullpen held on to clinch the 4-3 result.

Key Performances

For the Giants, Heliot Ramos and Willy Adames provided the primary power, each launching a home run. Adames finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs, while Ramos went 1-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Jung Hoo Lee also contributed a hit, going 1-for-4 in the contest. Daniel Susac was a bright spot at the plate, tallying a team-high two hits in three at-bats.

Giants starter Trevor McDonald pitched four innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits while striking out three. Relief efforts from JT Brubaker, who threw 2.1 innings, and Dylan Smith helped keep the game within reach, but a run allowed by Caleb Kilian in his brief 0.1 inning appearance ultimately proved costly in the final tally.
