Game Recap

The San Francisco Giants lost to the Seattle Mariners 3-4 on a day where power hitting defined the scoring. Despite a strong outing from Giants starter Logan Webb, who struck out five over 6.2 innings, the Mariners secured the win late in the game. Seattle's offense was highlighted by a pivotal home run from Cole Young, which drove in three runs and proved to be the difference in the tight contest.

Giants pitcher Logan Webb worked deep into the game, throwing 100 pitches, but ultimately allowed three earned runs and one home run. On the other side, Bryan Woo started for the Mariners, navigating 6.0 innings while allowing three runs, only two of which were earned, on six hits while striking out seven.

Key Performances

For the Giants, Rafael Devers and Willy Adames both left the yard, each finishing the game 1-for-4 or 1-for-5 with a solo home run. Bryce Eldridge contributed at the plate by going 2-for-4. Meanwhile, Cole Young led the Mariners' effort, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Julio Rodriguez also chipped in with an RBI despite not recording a hit in four at-bats.

The bullpen arms were effective in keeping the game close. For Seattle, Gabe Speier, Eduard Bazardo, and Andres Munoz combined for three innings of scoreless relief, with Munoz striking out two. Jose Ferrer also added an inning of work. The Giants saw clean relief appearances from Sam Hentges, Keaton Winn, and Erik Miller, though Dylan Smith was charged with the deciding run in his 0.2 innings of work.

The game featured a flurry of activity in the earlier frames before settling into a pitching duel in the later innings. Both teams struggled to capitalize on base runners, as evidenced by the high volume of strikeouts and stranded runners throughout the afternoon at T-Mobile Park.
