Game Recap

The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Colorado Rockies 13-9 in a high-scoring offensive display at Coors Field. The Rays' lineup set the tone early, consistently putting runners on base and capitalizing on pitching opportunities throughout the nine innings.

Tampa Bay starter Ian Seymour provided a solid foundation, tossing 6.0 innings and striking out nine batters while allowing only two earned runs and one home run. Despite a late rally by the Rockies against Rays relievers Casey Legumina and Michael Grove, Tampa Bay's substantial offensive production proved to be the difference in securing the win.

Key Performances

Junior Caminero led the charge for Tampa Bay, going 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBIs. Jonathan Aranda was nearly perfect at the plate, finishing 4-for-5 with two RBIs, while Richie Palacios contributed a home run and two RBIs, going 2-for-4. Chandler Simpson and Taylor Walls also chipped in with two hits and two RBIs apiece.

For the Colorado Rockies, Ezequiel Tovar had a remarkable night, going a perfect 4-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored. Mickey Moniak added a home run and two RBIs, while Jake McCarthy and Kyle Karros each provided two-RBI efforts. Despite these individual highlights, the Rockies were unable to overcome the early deficit created by the Rays' aggressive hitting against Michael Lorenzen, who surrendered seven earned runs over three innings of work.

The Rays' pitching staff managed to navigate the thin air of Coors Field, with Ian Seymour leading the effort. Kevin Kelly closed out the game, recording a final out with a single pitch to finalize the 13-9 victory.
