Game Recap

Washington Nationals defeated Colorado Rockies 7-3 at Coors Field. The Nationals offense proved to be the deciding factor, utilizing a mix of power hitting to overcome the Rockies' efforts. After an early back-and-forth, Washington pulled away late, securing a comfortable four-run victory on the road.

The scoring was highlighted by key long balls that kept the momentum in Washington's favor. Andres Chaparro delivered a significant blow with a home run and 3 RBIs, while CJ Abrams and Jacob Young also cleared the fences for the Nationals. On the mound, Andrew Alvarez started the game for Washington, working through 4.1 innings while allowing 3 runs on 6 hits.

The Nationals' bullpen held the lead firmly for the remainder of the contest. Riley Cornelio, Matt Krook, and Tom Cosgrove combined to shut down the Colorado lineup, allowing no runs and only two walks across the final 4.2 innings of play. This collective effort kept the Rockies' offense stagnant, preventing any potential late-game comeback at altitude.
